The Wizard of Oz at Sphere is a fully immersive experience that makes audiences feel like they have stepped inside the film.
The original film, shot for a 4:3 movie screen in the 1930s, fills Sphere’s 160,000 sq. ft. interior display plane, which wraps up, over and around the audience to create a fully immersive visual environment. To take advantage of Sphere Immersive Sound’s 167,000 programmable speakers, and ability to direct sound anywhere in the venue, the original film’s mono score was re-recorded to take on new clarity while preserving the casts’ vocal performances. Multi-sensory 4D elements are combined and leveraged for maximum impact to make audiences feel like they are in the experience alongside the characters, including high-velocity wind arrays, atmospheric fog, towering fire bursts, and infrasound haptic seats

This event is an immersive experience with various elements, that may include seat haptics, movement sensations, flashing lights, intense lighting, visual effects, loud noises, falling and flying objects, projectiles, pyrotechnics and atmospheric simulations such as fog, scent, mist and wind. Such elements may aggravate certain medical or physical conditions, and guests should take into consideration if they have a history of discomfort or physical symptoms when experiencing these elements. If you have any concerns and/or are pregnant, you should consult with your physician prior to attending an immersive experience.

Large bags and backpacks are not allowed inside the venue. Small clutches, purses, and fanny packs that are no larger than approximately 15 cm x 15 cm x 5cm (6" x 6" x 2"), as well as diaper bags and bags required for medical items, are permitted inside the venue.
